Amanita

Amanita muscaria

The Pacific Northwest is a very interesting place to explore, geologically. I’m amazed at how much petrified wood you can find here in Southwest Washington State. Fossils are out there, if you look hard and closely. They may not be as spectacular as dinosaur fossils, but when I find fossil plants, shells, and crabs I’m pretty amazed.

My interests in Geology, Earth Science, and collecting rocks and fossils have grown a lot. I’ve discovered new spots to explore and have found some beautiful and interesting rocks. The tumblers are busy these days.

The 2011 Fall season is over, now it’s winter. The mushrooms were there, but not in such variety or quantity as a good year. I got some pictures and finally transferred them from my cameras and resized them. I added a Fall 2011 page so you can check them out.

Check back soon!
